Don’t Buy When It’s On Sale

You’re not saving money at all

Last weekend, I bought new covers for my Kindle and iPad Pro. I love it because it feels like my existing gadgets are new.

I realized I don’t need to buy a new tablet, it’s only “want”. My 5-year-old iPad is still working smoothly because I’m only using it for watching videos and reading online.

Few years ago, I bought it not because I need it. I bought it because it’s on sale and I only want to have it. I was an impulsive buyer.

I didn’t listen to my mother’s frequent advice to us “don’t decide based on your emotions” and I ended up making wrong decisions.

Now, I’m practicing delay gratification before buying stuff. And asking myself “Do you really need it? Are you going to use it or consume it now?”

Buying things on-sale won’t save you money at all if you don’t really need it or using it soon. Instead, save and use it on what really matters.
